What did you wake up to learn today? Every day is a life-learning adventure! To learn is to grow, and the day that you stop listening and learning is the day that you stop growing. Even failure can lead to great fortune when we are attentive to learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others, and to learn from all of our daily experiences. Humility empowers us to learn from anyone and every event of life. Nothing can be poured into a cup that is already full. That is why “teach-ability” and a strong passion for learning are the marks of truly successful people. Great leaders are great learners! Begin every day with determination to learn something. End each day with a personal review – write down what you learned and envision how you will apply this knowledge in your life so it develops into internalized wisdom as you grow into the amazing person you were created to be.
Everything negative that was done to you or happened to you in the past has the potential to keep you from moving forward towards your future potential unless you choose to LET IT GO. UNTIL YOU LET GO OF IT, IT WON’T LET GO OF YOU! Whatever it was that they did or said and whatever happened, you need to let yourself fully feel what you really feel about it deep in your soul, then make the life-releasing decision to forgive everyone. Then, LET IT GO AND CHOOSE TO BE FREE OF IT! Don’t let the things of the past and the drives and deep motivations that they created in you keep you in bondage or control you any longer. Have you experienced abuse or betrayal? Were you criticized, bullied, or not loved well? We all are broken in some way and need to be rebuilt. We all are wounded in some way and need inner healing from the wounds of the past. Hurting people hurt other people and victims end up victimizing others. That’s why we desperately need deep healing that enables us to let go of the pain of the past, with all its tentacles that reach into our present world and hold us back from building our healthy future. Letting go means that we:
How were the ancient Egyptians able to build such impressive pyramids without the use of modern machinery? The answer is LEVERAGE! Why are some people able to build so much in life with so little, while others can not? THE ANSWER IS LEVERAGE! It’s not how much you have or are given that’s important, but what you do with all that you have or are given. If you lose your job, then you are meant to find or make a better one. If you were abused as a child, let the experience of inner healing and the choice of forgiveness create and develop in you true empathy for others who have been hurt, the ability to build healthy boundaries, and the compassion that will enable you to make a difference in the world. See every disability that you have as a tool that strengthens your other abilities and helps form your true life calling. Every loss provides a gain in some other area of your life – especially in some aspect of your character and soul. Every obstacle in your life is meant to be … because it’s the struggle to overcome these that makes you who you were created to be! Would you rather crawl your whole life, like the caterpillar, or would you rather fly? So, remember that its resistant training that builds your life muscles and strengthens your spirit. Realize that “set- backs” help us to step back and take a broader view of the big picture from a different vantage point so that, afterwards, we will be able to move forward towards building a better future. Let your weaknesses teach you to value other’s strengths and the power of community and the synergy in teamwork. Work to turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones. LEVERAGE EVERYTHING EVERY DAY TO BUILD A MONUMENTAL LIFE!
Love is the theme of more books, songs and movies than any other thing on the planet! There is a reason for that. To be loved and accepted completely is what everyone desires more than anything else, even if they are unaware of it. So, “What’s love got to do with it?” Everything! Everyone desires it, but few know how to receive it, to give it and to live it very well. If we all worked more at loving, we’d do a better job of living. Maybe we struggle to show it because we don’t really know it. It’s difficult to pass on to others what one has never fully received or experienced. So, what is love? It’s an emotion. It’s an attitude. It’s a choice and a life-style. It embodies kindness, compassion, gratitude, grace, forgiveness, patience and humility, and it is self-giving. True love is unconditional and desires what is best for others. It is not needy, demanding or self-centered. It gives, expecting nothing in return. When we live like that, it actually flows back into our lives in more ways than we could ever imagine! How well are you loving God, yourself and others. How much do you think those who are closest to you feel loved by you? Why not ask them today? In the end, the bottom line of life will be how well we loved. That’s why we need to make it our top priority to learn how to love and be loved.
Since leadership is influence and we all have a measure of influence in someone’s life, we all need to grow in the art of leadership. Leaders give of their lives, serving others to empower them to reach their full potential. When individual members grow, so do the families and organizations of which they are a part. In any organization or situation, if there is good leadership, the rest will follow, but without it, the rest have no one to follow. Leaders know who they are and they respect others. Leaders are not defensive, but are ready to listen and learn from others. They continually grow and change and influence others to do the same. They know where they are going and how to get there. They work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all that they do. When opposition and difficulties increase, they rise to the occasion and rally the troops. They are great team-mates as well as team leaders. They value people and create value wherever they go. Are you this kind of a leader? Do you have this kind of influence? We all lead someone in some way. The question is, “how do we lead them and to where?
So many people spend all their time just “trying to make it”, without even knowing what “IT” is. They let life happen, rather than make life happen. They keep going through the motions instead of growing through the motions. They need a life revival to wake them up and shake them out of mere survival mode! They need to start seeing the cup half full instead of half empty. They get so used to complaining about what they don’t have, that they forget to enjoy what they do have. As you get caught up in the business of life, don’t forget to LIVE! To truly live, you need to stop and linger and savor each moment of each day, being conscious that you will never live this moment again. Cherish the day! To truly live, you should laugh more – at yourself and with others! Get on the floor and play with the kids. Watch the sun rise and then set. Climb a mountain and swim in the deep blue ocean. Go out and risk something and give it your best shot. Make time every day to live! It could be your last.
When it’s all said and done, your life is what you make it to be with all the time, talents, relationships, obstacles and opportunities that you are given while you are on this planet. Your legacy
is the difference you make in the world and how you touch and impact the lives of others. Will your world be better because you lived? How will you influence and enrich the lives of those you love and those whose lives intersect with yours in the scheme and matrix of the master plan? Will you build wealth to leave in a responsible way for the future generations of your family and for others who matter? What will people say about you after you have gone the way of all flesh? All this is YOUR LEGACY! Build your life in such a way that you leave something great for those you love – for those who follow.
